Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: My child is 7 years old. Does my child need to attend the skills assessment?
A: No, your child does not need to attend the skills assessment. Little League International requires that all 8 year old and older must attend a skills assessment to ensure they get placed in the proper division. If you think your child has the ability to play up a division, they must attend a skills assessment to be considered, but there are no guarantees they will be drafted.
Q: I have multiple children registering for baseball, but I don't see the multiple child discount.
A: Early registration and multiple family discounts are taken at checkout.
Q: I was unable to attend the manager/coaches meeting. Will I still be able to manage/coach?
A: Dixon Little League will evaluate each case separately and give everyone a fair chance.
Q: Will there be a scorekeeper's clinic?
A: Yes, we will have a scorekeeper's clinic. It will be during our field work day at the little league complex. The field work day will be approximately two weeks before opening night.
Q: Do Juniors need to tryout?
A: Yes, all Juniors need to tryout.
Q: What uniform items do I need for my child?
A: Dixon Little League will provide each player a hat, shirt, belt, and socks. Parents will be required to purchase pants.
Q: If my child does not attend a skills assessment, will they remain in the same division as the previous year?
A: No. If your child is league age 8 or older, they will be eligible to be drafted into any one of the kid pitch divisions. The skills assessment is a crucial tool used by Dixon Little League to ensure your child is placed into the proper division. With no assessment, your child will be put into a division based on age only.
